Al talks about his initial goal to build up the business slowly through word of mouth in the community and to simply have a cafe, sell some coffee and roast some beans. How that plan evolved to employ a person, how it’s grown to a staff of 10 and how important that team is to the success of Firsthand Coffee.

Al Borrie talks about the planning behind selecting coffee locations including Box Espresso, what spurred him on to open Crazy Good, why he gives his team the freedom to make decision and the importance of giving everyone the knowledge about coffee to be able to pass on to customers.
